In the 1990s, in a newly independent Latvia, Asnate Smeltere established "Salons A" (located at 24 Kaļķu Street in Old Riga)—a brand highly esteemed by lovers of elegance that embodied the best traditions of local fashion and operated for over twenty years. The interior of "Salons A" was designed by architect Zaiga Gaile.
