Marta Ģibiete is an internationally recognized Latvian glass artist and a graduate of the Art Academy of Latvia, where she obtained a master’s degree in glass art. She has gained wide acclaim for her unique approach to working with glass, creating unusual works of various scales that stand out for their original spatial solutions. In her art, geometric forms intertwine seamlessly with poetic expression, resulting in visually and emotionally layered compositions. The artist works in a range of techniques and actively explores the versatility of glass — her creative practice includes mosaics, stained glass, spatial installations, and environmental objects incorporating mirror elements. Marta Ģibiete’s works are held in museum collections in Latvia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Ukraine, Poland, Japan, and China, as well as in private collections worldwide.
