"The painting is created in the best traditions of the "Union of Russian Artists", and also elements of Russian Cezanneism are felt in it, which were characteristic of the most prominent masters of the "Bubnovy valet" association". This is what Mikhail Krasilin, an art historian and critic, head of the expert sector of the Russian State Scientific Research Institute of Restoration, writes about the work. German Fyodorov studied at the Stroganov Art and Industrial School, later - in the private studio of Ilya Mashkov (1902–1904). From 1905 to 1911 he studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. He became close to the circle of the "Bubnovy valet" association of artists and became its member. He was also a member of the "Mir iskusstva" association. From 1918 he was an assistant at the State Free Art Workshops under Pyotr Konchalovsky. From 1918, he actively engaged in pedagogical activities. G. Fyodorov's works are in many Russian museums, including the Russian Museum, the Tretyakov Gallery, as well as in the museums of Cheboksary, Krasnodar, Chelyabinsk, Yaroslavl and other cities.
