The winery is 126 years old and is currently going through the third war in its history. Hours after a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Prince Trubetskoi's winery in the Kherson region was occupied and looted. It was released only in November 2022, when the Russians were completely pushed out of the right bank of the Dnieper. The owners of the winery have reclaimed the destroyed plant and will continue to fight. They have decided to abandon the name of the Russian nobleman in the name of the winery. In the future, the wines will be produced under the Stoic Winery name.
